International terrorism and extremism, including religious and other its manifestations, present today an equally growing threat to all countries of the world and human civilization as a whole. The intensification of the activities of terrorist organizations, having a transnational nature, requires the consolidation of the efforts of the international community to develop and implement adequate response measures to ensure security and stability at the national and regional levels.

The solution of this task contributes to the adoption of lists of terrorist and extremist organizations and investigative registers of persons involved in terrorist activities within the framework of the international structures.

In the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, in accordance with the decisions of the RATS SCO Council, also approved and activate the Unified investigative register of persons declared by special services and law enforcement agencies of the SCO member states in international search for committing or suspected of committing crimes of a terrorist, separatist or extremist character (hereinafter – Register), which includes more than 3,000 individuals and a List of terrorist, separatist and extremist organizations, whose activities are banned on the territories of the SCO member states (hereinafter – the List), comprising more than 100 organizations, including “Islamic State”, “Jebhat an Nusra”, “Islamic Movement of Eastern Turkestan”, “Hizb ut-Tahrir al Islami”, “Islamic Renaissance Party of Tajikistan”, “Ansarullah”, etc.

The List and the Register are systematically updated on the basis of information and decisions of the judicial bodies of the SCO member states adopted in accordance with their national legislation.
