Aqaba Petroleum Company

Aqaba Petroleum Company (APCO) was established in 2005 to implement cutting-edge technologies in the country’s oil sector in order to enhance Jordan’s international competitiveness.

APCO’s activities include investing in operations involving oil and related products; building oil distribution and storage facilities, providing consulting services; and setting up and partnering with companies in the petroleum sector.

Positioning Jordan as regional energy hub

Jordan’s oil port in Aqaba is the country’s only oil port, and APCO – the developer and operator to the oil port – aims to develop and modify the oil port to meet international standards, APCO is also developing a 500 sq km oil shale field to provide additional energy resources for the country. Dr. Mark Voloshin, Chairman, says, “Jordan and Aqaba could become a significant energy hub.”

APCO welcomes the chance to work with international partners and is currently looking for a partner for a major storage facility project. APCO is seeking around €240 million to €320 million in investments as well as technology transfer and know-how. APCO’s overall goal is to promote Jordan’s development while protecting its energy resources.
