ASE Bucharest is one of Romania’s most popular universities for international students and it currently has almost 700 foreign students enrolled, not counting those in the European ERASMUS programme, and those who choose to study Romanian for a year in our university. ASE offers classes taught in foreign languages at all study levels: 11 Bachelor’s programmes, 13 Master’s programmes and 3 MBAs in English, French or German. ASE offers the possibility of obtaining a PhD in English, French or German, as well. The Faculty of Business Administration in Foreign Languages, for example, has programmes in English, French and German, as well as a Romanian-German MBA in Entrepreneurial Management. Students can also earn a Romanian-Canadian MBA and a Romanian-French MBA within the Bucharest Business School.

Nicolae Istudor, Rector of ASE Bucharest, explains, “Our English and German programmes in the Faculty of Business Administration are very well developed and now we are working to expand our programme in French in partnership with the National School of Administration in Paris.” He adds, “ASE Bucharest welcomes more international collaboration.”

ASE Bucharest places a high priority on research. The university’s Division of Research and Innovation Management provides logistics support and specialised consultancy services for professors and other researchers, and ASE publishes 20 scientific journals. The university is currently involved in a wide range of national and global research projects, many with international funding. These include Framework Programme 7, COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology), CERGE (Centre for Economic Research and Graduate Education), EUREKA, and European Social Fund – SOP HRD projects.

ASE Bucharest will continue to expand its academic programmes and research efforts. As Nicolae Istudor points out, “The Bucharest University of Economic Studies is a research-intensive university that organises study programs and scientific research in the fields of Economic Sciences, Administrative Sciences, Sociology and Humanities. ASE is considered the most important economic higher-education institution in Romania and one of the most renowned economic universities in South-Eastern Europe.”
