Representing the leaders in the field of nuclear and environmental radiation detection & measurement equipment and the leaders in the field of medical radiation detection & measurement, diagnostic, and therapy equipment, CANBERRA PACKARD S.R.L. is the principal supplier of nuclear and medical equipment in Romania. The company is part of CANBERRA PACKARD Central Europe GmbH, which was initially established in 1987 in Schwadorf, Austria, as Silena Vertriebsgesellschaft GmbH – a representative of the Italian radiation detection & measurement equipment manufacturer SILENA, but in 1994, due to the change of their major supplier to Canberra Industries, Inc., they adopted their current name.

Leading supplier in the region

Since its establishment in 1987, CANBERRA PACKARD Central Europe GmbH has experienced unprecedented growth. Until 1990, their customers, served directly from Austria, were usually state-owned trade organizations, but following the changes in Central and Eastern Europe, the company is now supplying mostly the end users. The company has more than 90 staff members and offices in Austria, Belarus, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovak Republic and Ukraine. The establishment of their local offices in Central and Eastern Europe has brought the company even closer to their customers and the outstanding quality of their products and services has made them the largest supplier in the region.

Superb quality equipment

CANBERRA PACKARD

CANBERRA PACKARD offers a large family of automatic and manually-controlled low background alpha/beta/gamma counters, including the C CANBERRA PACKARD s Alpha Analyst, the complete solution for both routine and non-routine alpha spectroscopy applications, and the CANBERRA PACKARD’s Gamma Analyst, a dedicated turnkey instrument which maximizes instrument utilization and produces high quality results. The company also offers a full range of Nuclear Instrumentation Modules, including: Alpha Spectrometers, Amplifiers, Analog-to-Digital Converters; Cables/Connectors; Counters and Ratemeters; Power Supplies; Preamplifiers; Single Channel Analysers; Multi Channel Analysers; Specialty Signal Processing Modules; Systems Cabinets; Timing Instruments; Instrument Control Bus (ICB). Furthermore, CANBERRA PACKARD has developed an advanced family of gamma ray, neutron, and combined gamma/neutron waste assay systems that can effectively measure radioactive materials in a wide variety of matrices and container geometries, and it also offers a full range of solutions for all health physics, environmental monitoring and security needs, including: Survey Instruments and Probes; Contamination Monitoring; Dosimetry; Hand-Held Spectroscopy; Environmental Monitoring; Homeland Security etc. CANBERRA PACKARD manufactures a wide range of Silicon and Germanium Photon Detectors and offers the broadest line of cryostats and accessories in the industry. Specially engineered versions of these types of detectors can be provided for research and custom applications. CANBERRA PACKARD also offers an advanced type of Silicon Charged Particle Detector which is known as the PIPS (Passivated Implanted Planar Silicon) Detector. The PIPS Detector provides much better performance and greater ruggedness and reliability than conventional SSB or Diffused Junction Detectors. CANBERRA PACKARD offers a complete line of multichannel analysers with digital signal processing (DSP). All DSP-based MCAs available from CANBERRA PACKARD start with digitizing the analog tail-pulse from the detector preamplifier. Further signal filtering is then carried out within the digital domain. DSP technology offers superior count rate, resolution and stability performance and is considered to be the state-of-the-art technology for the demanding spectroscopist. In addition to delivering high-end nuclear and environmental radiation detection & measurement equipment, the company also offers: pre-sales consultation; installation, training, and after-sales support; warranty service; upgrades and modernization; and project management; thus providing clients with a comprehensive package.
