DHL Georgia

Global logistics giant DHL has been present in Georgia since 1994 and has been steadily keeping pace with the country’s impressive economic development. Malkhaz Papelashvili, DHL’s Country Manager for Georgia, explains, “DHL Georgia, the Georgian franchise of DHL Express and Global Forwarding, has been radically changed since its foundation here. Just as the global DHL group has expanded its services from its original focus on the delivery of letters and packages to include the entire logistics chain, DHL Georgia has been broadening its portfolio to offer all kinds of delivery and distribution services. As a result of this expansion, we have significantly boosted our market share.”

DHL Georgia is headquartered in Tbilisi and also has offices and drop off points in Batumi, Poti, Kutaisi, Zugdidi, Gori, Telavi, Rustavi to serve its clients throughout the country. DHL Georgia’s key goal is to satisfy the needs of its customers by providing world class products, services and solutions. It also aims to enhance the reputation of the DHL brand in Georgia and throughout the region. “Our guiding principles are respect for our customers and achieving results. These determine every aspect of our decision making processes and culture. The promise we give to our customers is to make greater efforts to deliver solutions which will make their lives easier and meet their business needs today and tomorrow,” Malkhaz Papelashvili points out.

Playing a key role in Georgia’s development

DHL is playing a key role in Georgia’s ongoing development by providing high quality, reliable local and international logistics services, which Malkhaz Papelashvili calls the “backbone” of any economy. He says, “DHL helps to make Georgia’s global trade possible and thus serves as an important contributor to the country’s economic growth and cost optimisation.”

Georgia’s logistics industry offers exceptional potential and DHL is ready to take advantage of that, Malkhaz Papelashvili says. He cites the country’s strategic location on the historic Silk Route, its long history as a base for shipping, its growing involvement in international trade, and its rapidly developing infrastructure as factors which will spur on the expansion of the logistics sector. He concludes, “Georgia is ready to become the logistics and transport hub of the Caucasus region. To achieve the country’s ambitious goals, we need courage and a spirit of reform supported by knowledge. DHL is ready to be a leader in this achievement.”
