Four-Star Luxury with a Personal Touch

Four-star Lemigo Hotel, which opened in 2010, brings world-class luxury-hotel services to Kigali. Chief Financial Officer Yves Nkulikiye explains that Lemigo Hotel sees itself as a four-star property that offers a personalised five-star experience at four-star prices. He adds, “We put the emphasis on staff training to make sure that our guests can count on international-standard service. Our management is very hands-on and we are dedicated to 100% high quality.”

Lemigo Hotel offers an array of amenities, including a fitness centre, a swimming pool, a gym, a sauna and steam room, not to mention massage services.  The hotel comes complete with gourmet food and beverage options.  For dining purposes the hotel encompasses an Asian fusion restaurant specialising in Chinese and Indian dishes as well as traditional African barbecue. The hotel also has four conference halls equipped with the latest technologies.

Abundant facilities

The hotel now contains 97 luxurious guest rooms and suites but it is adding a whole new facility with 50 more guest rooms to meet growing demand. This new building will also facilitate an additional conference facility which will accommodate up to 1,000 guests.  Furthermore Lemigo will embark to have an adjoining shopping mall. The hotel’s management is also looking into installing solar-energy systems in order to become more energy efficient, to better protect the environment.

Lemigo Hotel serves a number of government institutions, non-government organisations, the UN and other international groups as well as individual travellers. Around 80% of its guests have come to Rwanda on business. Yves Nkulikiye explains, “Our occupancy rates have risen steadily and will continue to grow. Rwandair, Africa’s fastest-growing airline, has brought many more visitors to Rwanda and we look forward to the ever increasing visitors to Rwanda.”

Lemigo aims to establish itself as a leading hotel brand in Rwanda over the coming five years and then to share the Lemigo brand regionally. Yves Nkulikiye concludes, “We are always open to partnerships in order to increase our capacity and profitability.
