Marina Hotel

In Batumi on Georgia’s beautiful Black Sea coast, the Marina Hotel and its sister property the Hotel Sanapiro offer five star services at three- and four star prices. Both hotels are closer to the beach than any other hotels in the city, and both specialise in serving international visitors. The hotels are part of MariGroup, founded in 2006. George Lomtatidze, Deputy Director, explains, “MariGroup hotels guarantee high quality, service and cleanliness. These are our guiding principles.”

The three star Hotel Marina, with 53 rooms and suites, is part of MariGroup’s Marina tourism complex, which includes a 150 m private beach, a café, a popular Mexican restaurant, a billiard room, a 25 m long swimming pool, a sauna and fitness centre, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, and two football pitches with an artificial surface. For business visitors, the hotel has a conference hall and a private car park. The Marina complex is connected to the centre of Batumi by a 6 km boardwalk lined with restaurants and other attractions, including the hotel’s own convivial Tikki Bar.

The four star Hotel Sanapiro, which has 86 rooms and suites, offers visitors a 100 m private beach, a swimming pool, a sauna and fitness centre, a children’s playground, a football pitch with an artificial surface, a restaurant specialising in Italian cuisine, and a conference hall. Guests at both hotels can sample exceptional Georgian cuisine at MariGroup’s popular beachfront restaurant, Benze.

Seeking partners for expansion projects

To meet growing demand, MariGroup would like to upgrade the Hotel Marina to four stars and to add new floors. “We would like to attract a management company which could help our two hotels progress and which could offer expertise on the best way to expand. We would also like help in building new conference facilities here in Batumi to attract more business visitors, particularly during the off season,” George Lomtatidze says. He adds that both MariGroup hotels are just minutes from the airport and that Batumi has excellent potential to become a popular conference destination.

MariGroup also owns the 5,000 sq m Bagrationi trade centre on the new Sarpi-Tbilisi motorway as well as extensive parking space on the Batumi-Khulo motorway with access to rail connections, and, in the city centre, the popular Privet iz Batuma café and a 500 sq m office building. George Lomtatidze concludes, “We administer all our properties with the highest international standards.”
