Growing World Class Professional Accountancy Regulator and Educator in Zambia

The Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) is the only professional accountancy body in Zambia. It is the sole organization in Zambia with the right to award the Chartered Accountant designation, providing accountability in the quality and service of the accounting profession. Established under the Accountants Act of 1982, repealed and continues to exist under the Accountants Act of 2008, with primary mandate to promote the accountancy profession, through the regulation of accountancy practice and education in Zambia. During its 35 years of existence, ZICA, which currently has around 6.000 members, achieved an international reputation for its high-quality standards, including a robust regime of continuous professional development and practice monitoring. The guiding principles of the Institute are virtue, competence, integrity and professionalism.

The Council makes policy decisions on the affairs of the Institute. It sets the strategic direction and provides oversight to the management or Secretariat of the Institute. The business of the Council is carried out through eight standing Committees and three Independent Committees. The Council is headed by the President who is elected at the Annual General meeting for a three-year term office and can be re-elected for a second term. Currently Jason S. Kazilimani is holding the office of President of ZICA.

Aiming to give international recognition and access to opportunities for its members, ZICA has joined Chartered Accountants Worldwide as an Associate Member, becoming only the second Institute in Africa to be part of this premium group.

The CA Zambia is a premier professional accountancy qualification suitable for those that seek to be professionally qualified in finance and business. Responding to the market demand for a specialized program in Taxation, the Institute is also providing the Taxation program, to offer a thorough understanding of the Tax system among the professionals from a wide range of disciplines.
