Construction Enterprise Helping to Build Tomorrow’s Macedonia

Cevahir, founded in Turkey, has been a construction-industry leader since 1959 and has completed major projects in Turkey, Libya, Saudi Arabia and now Macedonia. Today, the Cevahir Holding group includes 12 independent companies active in construction, tourism, investments, and internal and external trade.

Eser Cevahir, Member of Board of the family-owned group, explains, “We had reached up to around 7,000 employees in the peak seasons. Our projects include two five-star hotels in Istanbul, one of which is the Grand Cevahir Istanbul, which houses Turkey’s first and largest convention centre. We also built Cevahir Shopping Mall, the biggest in Turkey. It attracts 25 million visitors per year.”  Cevahir Holding has built around 1.5 million sq m since its beginnings.

SkyCity Skopje

Now Cevahir Holding has invested in SkyCity Skopje, an ambitious project comprising four 40-storey residential towers with over 1,300 apartments, a huge parking facility, a state-of-the-art shopping mall and exceptional services. It is the tallest structure in Macedonia to date. Explaining why the Cevahir group targeted Macedonia, Eser Cevahir says, “We were looking for new opportunities and saw this project as our ideal first project in the Balkans and as a potential gateway to Europe. In SkyCity Skopje, we have employed the best possible construction materials and technologies.”

Cevahir has more projects lined up in Macedonia, including the 835,000 sq m Skopje Sun City, which will offer a mix of high-quality residential, commercial and business facilities. Eser Cevahir, who is active in the Turkish-Macedonian Economic Association, is very positive about Macedonia as an investment target thanks to its positive business environment, strategic location and many business opportunities.
