FAKOM, the international steel structure company, offers a wide range of metal processing services from design to production and erection of various kinds of structures and equipment. Founded in 1960, FAKOM has been the leading metal processing company in South Eastern Europe for the past 50 years and is the region’s only company with such an expertise in the entire metal processing cycle. Its production program include: automatically welded profiles, steel structures for industrial facilities, road and railway bridges, mining equipment, equipment for steam and hydroelectric plants, fuel and gas tanks and processing equipment for many industrial facilities as well erection of the produced equipment.

Since 2007, FAKOM has invested about €10 million in upgrading its equipment and technologies, including new software, sophisticated laser instruments, AC 300 tonne Terex DEMAG mobile crane which is the only equipment of its kind in the Balkans, and many other innovations and investments. FAKOM has plenty of completed projects within the country and abroad. The most important are: power plant REK Bitola, REK Oslomej, OKTA refinery, FENI Industries, many road and railway bridges, a railway station in Skopje, City Trade Centre in Skopje, a cellulose factory in Cameroon, a steel factory in Libya, 26 steel railway bridges in Vietnam, a power plant in Algeria and many other bridges in Europe, Kuwait, Iraq and Russia. In the Balkans, FAKOM participated in the construction of Marakana stadium in Belgrade; a port Bijela in Montenegro; the bridge over the river Sava in Sremska Raca in Serbia, it is permanently active in the Croatia Shipyards, as well as many new projects and cooperation. “Recently we are focused on boosting our presence and obtaining references by foreign partner in Italy, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Slovenia, Albania as well as entering on the new markets in the northern European countries.”, explains Mr. Simonovski about the future plans in international cooperation of FAKOM.

FAKOM has obtained many of the international quality expertise certificates such as ISO 9001:2008 for the quality management, DIN EN ISO 3834- 2, the newest ENC1090 welding certification and many others. FAKOM closely cooperates with relevant international partners, (consortium, joint venture, subcontractor or contractor) applying for international tenders with Freyssinet Group (France), STRABAG (Austria) and Montmontaza (Croatia), and has established long term partnerships with IHC Holland, Fincantieri (Italy), ThyssenKrupp Fördertechnik, TAKRAF (Germany) and many other traditional partners in Europe and worldwide.

FAKOM has signed Framework Agreement with the Mechanical and Civil Engineering Faculty for technical and academic cooperation, as well as providing regular scholarships for the best students, internships, employee training and other forms of permanent support.
