COGEBANQUE has been growing rapidly and is preparing for an IPO in early 2015. The bank specialises in serving corporate clients, from SMEs to large companies, and it also has around 50,000 retail customers. As General Director Mostafa Ouezekhti puts it, “We grew by 31% in only nine months in 2014. COGEBANQUE is too large to be ranked with smaller banks and too small to be one of the larger banks, so this is the right time for us to change our future. We are number four in the country and our goal is to be Rwanda’s number two bank.”
The bank will continue to offer new services based on the latest technologies, including mobile and online banking as well as Mastercard and VISA cards. COGEBANQUE is also expanding its branch network and will have 23 branches operating in 2015.
Mostafa Ouezekhti also hopes to have 250 bank agents representing the bank throughout Rwanda by the end of the year. He welcomes partners and investors, and concludes, “COGEBANQUE is open and transparent, and we aim to grow by around 25% in 2015 alone. COGEBANQUE wants to play a key role in helping Rwanda achieve its enormous potential.”
