Grindrod Petrologistics

Grindrod Petrologistics has been operating in Botswana for over 25 years. Grindrod, Africa’s largest logistics group, is a fully integrated freight-logistics and shipping-services provider focusing on handling dry-bulk and liquid-bulk commodities, containerised cargo and vehicles.

In Botswana, Grindrod Petrologistics specialises in transporting fuel from South African ports to Botswana. Managing Director Todd Mangadi explains, “Botswana’s strategic location has made it a logistics hub for Africa. Grindrod has made a long-term commitment to Botswana and plans to get involved in more activities here, including shipping coal by rail. We are partnering with the government to create the huge new storage facility in the Tshele Hills.”

Grindrod Petrologistics mainly partners with major international oil companies in Botswana and it is also working with Botswana Oil to help reduce the country’s dependence on South Africa for oil. Todd Mangadi points out, “We are planning a new rail link to Namibia and we want to bring oil from Mozambique. We are number one in fuel transport and we are positioning ourselves to be the main transporters for the energy sector.”

The award-winning company meets the highest international standards of health, safety and environmental protection. Todd Mangadi concludes, “Grindrod Petrologistics has a global presence and local knowledge.”
