Institute of Finance and Economics

The Institute of Finance and Economics (IFE) has been developing one of Mongolia’s most important resources – its people – since 1924. As one of Mongolia’s first universities, the IFE has steadily grown over the years and now offers undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate degrees in finance, accounting, marketing and other business-related fields to over 3,600 students.

The Institute is committed to maintaining the highest international standards. It is accredited by the Mongolian National Council for Education Accreditation and has earned prestigious international accreditation from the US-based Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programmes (ACBSP).

The IFE is ranked one of the most innovative business schools in the region and is well known for its unique programmes, multimedia methods, and creative, flexible approaches to learning. The Institute has assembled a team of highly qualified instructors from all over the world and has formed alliances with many international institutions. It has also implemented the latest educational tools and technologies in its drive to help its students make the most of their potential.

Educating students to be productive members of society

Serving students directly from secondary schools as well as ones who transfer from other universities, the IFE focuses on providing all its students with unique opportunities to improve their management and leadership skills while also encouraging them to become productive members of society who are guided by democratic values, a sense of justice and a respect for all people.

The IFE established its first international professional course with its ACCA programme. Now the institute offers 16 different joint programmes with the countries such as UK, China, Taiwan, and South Korea and will soon launch internationally recognised CFA and CMA professional finance and management programmes.

The Institute plays a key role in Mongolia’s on-going economic and social development. One of its goals is to educate young people from rural areas who will later be able to implement what they have learned in their home regions. The IFE is committed to supporting the development of Mongolia’s rural communities and is ready to partner with international researchers in activities which will benefit rural areas, for example projects to develop organic agriculture.

The IFE has already established ties with educational institutions in many countries and welcomes the chance to form new partnerships with educational leaders throughout the world. The Institute’s mission is to be the most dynamic business school in Asia and to continue to help ensure the high quality of Mongolia’s higher-education system.
