For investors and travellers planning a trip to Romania, Tarom offers exceptional connections to Bucharest. The airline was established in Romania in 1954 and has implemented the highest international standards. It became a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in 1993, the Association of European Airlines in 2000, and the SkyTeam Alliance in 2010. Through the SkyTeam Alliance, for example, Tarom offers access to an extensive global network with more destinations, frequencies and connectivity than ever before.

Madalina Mezei, General Manager of Tarom in Belgium and the Netherlands, explains that Tarom has joined the Air France-KLM Flying Blue loyalty programme, which gives members the chance to earn and spend miles with flights on any SkyTeam-member airline. Moreover, travellers can use their frequent-flyer miles for life if they fly at least every 20 months. The programme includes upgrades, flight awards, baggage bonuses and special services from a wide range of partners.

Tarom’s home base is Henri Coandă International Airport in Bucharest. Tarom operates flights on 36 routes, seven of them domestic. This year Tarom added new flights between Bucharest and Stockholm and Bucharest and Moscow, as well as flights connecting Iasi and Tel Aviv and Iasi and Milano.

In Belgium, Tarom’s one of the best destination in western Europe, the airline partners with Brussels Airlines. Madalina Mezei says, “Around 40% of our passengers are travelling for business, and we will continue to attract business travellers through our flight schedules and our offering of two daily flights between Bucharest and Brussels. Our CEO is Belgian and we have many regular passengers who are connected to EU institutions in Brussels.”

High customer satisfaction

Madalina Mezei points out that recent surveys demonstrate Tarom’s success with satisfying its customers: 94% of travellers surveyed noted that Tarom is their first-choice airline, while 96% said that they recommend Tarom to other travellers. All praised the airline’s safety record, punctuality, programmes tailored to passengers’ needs, superior connections between destinations, attractive prices and experienced pilots. At the Romania Excellence Awards in May 2013, Tarom was named tourism airline of the year for the second year in a row.

As Romania’s flagship carrier, Tarom is committed to service excellence and high-quality operations in its international and domestic scheduled and charter flights. Madalina Mezei explains, “Tarom’s image is very good. We are known as a small, safe airline with quality service. For anyone flying to Bucharest, Tarom is your most reliable option.”
