DARIMEX: The Leading Animal By-Products company in Romania

DARIMEX originally established in Rotterdam, The Netherlands on April 12, 1939 by Johan Mari Schouten is present in Romania since 1964. The company produces high quality natural sausage casings, in their own production plant located in Arad, which are delivered to 80% European markets where DARIMEX products have a strong presence such as France, Spain and Germany, being important sausage consumers.

The company is also very active in the distribution of edible collagen sausage casings, artificial sausage casings as well as meat & sausage additives and spices. Through their own converting centres the company provides printed and shirred sausage casings. The company employs 120 persons in their production plant in Arad and 80 persons in Timisoara where DARIMEX partners with global group Smithfield in the processing of animal by-products for the sausage, pet-food and pharmaceuticals industries.

DARIMEX has applied for EU funding and modernized it’s natural sausage casings production facility in Arad and further plans include the building of a pet-food centralizing cold-store and pet-food pre-processing plant as well as the opening of own distribution centres in France and Spain by merging or taking over local distributors.
