Elit

Elit, founded in 2003, specialises in the production of high quality ice cream, and its ice cream products under the Azhur brand have become top sellers in the Ukraine market. Based in Kiev, Elit has established several state of the art production facilities throughout the country which have all received ISO certification, including ISO 9004:2000 for Total Quality Management. Elit’s plants handle the full cycle of the ice cream production process, from transforming raw materials to packaging.

Innovation is one of Elit’s priorities, and the company will continue to add to its diverse portfolio of ice cream products, including the dozens of products with its very successful Openwork label. Grachyk Vardanian, General Manager says that quality and an efficient management structure account for Elit’s competitive edge. He explains, “We are very proud of our quality: the quality of our products, the quality of our employees, and the quality of our production processes. We also strive to achieve an independent system, a system that can function well on its own regardless of the person in charge.”

Cutting edge infrastructure to accommodate future growth

Elit has developed proactively by investing in cutting edge infrastructure that can handle the company’s anticipated growth. Grachyk Vardanian says, “We do not need any more investments in infrastructure or equipment; we already own 90% of our transport facilities and have implemented the latest information technology systems, including computer controlled production processes. Our infrastructure is able to handle four to five times our current production and sales.”

Elit plans to build more factories in order to boost its direct sales, particularly in large cities, and to expand its sales in areas with high demand, such as tourism centres. Vardanian welcomes the opportunity to work with international partners. He says, “Our ideal partner would be a company like ours that wants to invest in the ice cream market here in Ukraine. Elit is definitely a promising investment choice because not only are we a proven success in the market and have already developed high quality production and distribution processes, but we are also a very transparent company that meets international standards.”

Grachyk Vardanian is very confident about the future of Ukraine and of Elit. He concludes, “Ukraine is a market with excellent growth potential, as its hosting of Euro 2012 shows. The ice cream market in Ukraine is growing fast, and Elit is at the forefront of this growth.”
