Logistics Firm Offers Next-Day Shipments between Botswana and South Africa

Premier Logistics streamlines the transport of goods across Botswana’s borders. The 100% Batswana-owned business provides customs clearance, bonded vehicles and other goods, transport (including of vehicles) and consulting support. Launched as a one-man operation, Premier Logistics has grown rapidly and now employs 18 Batswana. It has offices in Gaborone and at Botswana’s international airport, with a new office set to open soon in Maun. Premier Logistics also has offices in Durban, South Africa (operating as Multi-Layer Freight) and in Namibia’s port.

Jeffis Mpala, CEO, reports that Premier Logistics has earned a 20% to 30% share of Botswana’s transport market thanks to its efficiency and reliable, customer-focused service, including express overnight service between Botswana and South Africa. Operations Director Japhet Msimanga says, “We want to grow our overnight-express service by 30% to 35% this year and will continue to employ market-driven strategies.” Premier Logistics also represents BeForward, a Japanese company which exports vehicles to Africa.

Premier Logistics is set for continued strong growth and welcomes the chance to serve international customers. Jeffis Mpala concludes, “We are a clearing agent as well as a transporter, so anything coming into Botswana will be handled first by us. Premier Logistics can take care of any shipments crossing Botswana’s borders.”
