Developing Albania’s Rich Mining Resources

Tirex Resources Ltd. is spearheading the growth of Albania’s high potential mining sector. The company has invested around €16 million in mining exploration in Albania since 2006 and has acquired a 553 sq km area in the Mirdita district.

Perparim Alikaj, Tirex Country Manager, explains, “We are focusing our efforts on developing the potential of the Mirdita project into a major volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) district with multiple large deposits of copper, zinc, gold and silver. Leading the way into Albania and employing modern exploration techniques in an area with a rich mining history, Tirex is in the right country at the right time.”

Tirex, the first mining exploration project to receive EBRD funding, offers significant investment potential. Tirex has several projects in the works, has obtained equity financing without attaching warrants to common shares during the equity issuances, and plans to fast track into production without any share dilution.

Tirex has located significant copper, zinc, gold and silver mineralisation in six separate zones within the Mirdita district and has recently announced production plans in partnership with a leading Turkish metals trading and mining company. Prof. Perparim Alikaj, concludes, “The opportunity that Tirex has at Mirdita is unique because of the company’s first mover status in this geologically rich country.”
